Miss Selfridge

Spring 2010 Collections

Step inside a magical world of fairytales, funfairs, carnivals and the circus with an eclectic and quirky collection at Miss Selfridge that is playful and romantic. Prints, patterns and textures are nonchalantly put together and adorned with bows, ruffles, tiers, frills and fringing to create a whimsical feminine look.

Florals encapsulate the girly mood with sequin proms, poppy print tea dresses and bustier tops. Cropped jackets are nipped in at the waist and teamed with tulle tutus, straw boaters and strings of pearls. Blooms of daisies and roses from an eccentric English garden are mixed with stripes, polka dots and heart prints for a topsy turvy look as if one has stepped through the looking glass with Alice.

Experience all the fun of the fair with rainbow striped knits, harlequin prints, oversized bows and balloon motifs. Flirty gingham playsuits and candy stripe waistcoats in bubble gum and candy floss shades are styled with marabou feather purses and polka dot platforms adorned with corsages.

Delicate 1920s style underwear slips and Edwardian lace blouses create an ethereal boudoir feel in cream and white sprinkled with sequins. Tasselled, flapper girl dresses and satin dresses embody the vintage styling Miss Selfridge is renowned for in nude, pistachio, peach, apricot and dusky pink ice cream shades.

Mystical fairy prints are featured on jersey tees and dresses. Trousers are a key look this season, skinny combats and slouchy, softly fluid belted styles are perfect with waistcoats featuring delicate vintage crochet detailing and beading. Charcoal and dove grey washed cotton military jackets and tops are teamed with maxi dresses, pinstripe trousers.

Accessories include bags with bow details, stripes and floral prints. Footwear sees a pastel colour palette and bolder navy and purple mixed with metallic hues featuring shells, tassels and cut out detailing on boots, sandals and ballet pumps. Headwear takes centre stage with bowlers, cocktail hats with netting and feathered headdresses completing the look.
